Step Two-Create your website!
This is where it gets fun. To Create your website, I suggest using a program called Wordpress. Wordpress makes creating a website easy. Many of the important features are built right into Wordpress. You dont have to worry about HTML or SEO, because its automatic. Wordpress even pings itself to let the world know when youve made a change to your website. You can concentrate on the important part. How it looks, and what it says.
To create your website with Wordpress, you will need to install it on your host. Log in to your host account and look for a blue smiley face icon called Fantastico. Fantastico is an app that lets you install things to your host. Click it and on the list, choose Wordpress. You will need to setup a login and password for your Wordpress site.
When its done installing you can now log in to your website.
In your browser, enter your domain name, followed by /wp-admin. So if you chose www.mysite.com, you will get to your sites control panel by typing www.mysite.com/wp-admin.
Mysite of course being the name you chose.
This will bring you to the Wordpress control panel. Most of the major choices will be on the left. First choose "Appearance" then "Themes" On the right you will see many themes you can choose from. Choose a theme by clicking it. If you like it, choose "activate" on the top. If you dont see a theme you like , choose add a new theme. There are thousands to choose from.
Next, choose "Posts", then "Add New" and add a post to your website. A small word processor like app will appear, and you can type in some text. A good start may be to write a short introduction to your website. When you are done choose "publish" on the right and your website has begun.
Above the small wordprocessor app you will see a small icon for adding a picture or a video.
This is just the begining, but your site is on its way. Many professional websites start out with just a few posts.
I will help you with your site, at no charge. Feel free to write to me at paulstonesmail@yahoo.com
I look forward to seeing your website!
